Spring Trends: White

I know, this one’s kind of a no brain-er. Just like how its not at all surprising that during winter everybody goes neutral black and every color is dimmed. But still, white is a big trend so I wanted to share some outfits that are still fun and have other trends thrown in. Enjoy,

Okay so everyone knows that short suits are in (or had a spotlight moment, haven’t heard from them in a while), but they’re very cute and why not just take pieces you already own to make your own? So I use these white shorts and this blazer to kinda give you a short suit vibe. Then to add some color grab a cute sleeveless mint (in color) top with a cute lace detail and some mustard yellow (weirdly looks good with mint) sunglasses. Then just add in some fun accessories like these sandals, cute ring, and colorful bird studs. This outfit is a cute spring outfit for going out to lunch or taking a trip and the blazer will keep any breeze that comes and goes away. During spring it’s always good to layer. Outfit Information.

This outfit has some more color and is really fun. Pair a white tee with a striped maxi skirt and white wedges. Then add some color with a turquoise ring and a cute head band that also mixes in some more pattern. Then grab another ring and necklace to complete the look! Outfit Information.

This outfit is the most fancy and has the most white. I made this for hard working powerful women or you could easily transform it into a date night / party outfit if you added some fun accessories. So take this lovely white peplum dress with a adorable belt and match the belt with some purple heels. Then add a white briefcase and paint your nails this cute nude color from Essie. Get a bracelet and add some fun with these cute bow earrings. Outfit Information.

Hope you enjoyed the outfits!

Getting There

Happy Monday! The weather is getting so nice! I wore this last week and am currently wearing shorts and was in shorts and a tank yesterday and my swimsuit most of Saturday. :)

Details: Medium wash capri’s to stay cool without going completely into my beloved shorts. Then I just paired a teal tank under this cute graphic one and threw a polka-dot cardigan over it to fight that slight breeze that last week was still lingering in the air. Right now were in (almost) full on summer weather and it is SO nice, I will be so sad when it go’s away :(

How’s your weather? Is anyone else getting Mr. Sun? Comment!

P.S. I’ve done 40 fashion posts! That leaves 60 left, were getting there.

Today is… Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers day everyone! Instead of a Today I… I decided to do a Today is… (which I just made up 2.5 seconds ago). Since today is mothers day I decided to share a cute diy you can do for your mom as a (very) last minuet gift or you can keep this is the back of your mind for the next birthday/ holiday that rolls around. So I was just looking online at some diy ideas (because I don’t have much $ for a gift) and I saw a diy bookmark and I know my mom really needs a bookmark (seriously she’s been using various pieces of ripped scrap paper she finds), so I altered the diy to what I already had in my random abyss of scrapbook things an voila!

Supplies:

Colored paper, patterned ribbon, double sided tape, mason jar, scratch paper

Basically you just figure out about how big you want your bookmark to be, then cut out a rectangle in your colored paper (use any color, I just thought yellow would pop), then size it up to a book and make adjustments as needed. I had to cut mine two or three more times to get it the size I wanted, because I didn’t want it to be as long as the whole page.

Then you measure out your ribbon. I got mine to wrap all the way around the paper and then you want some leftover so it hangs loose to stick out the top of your book,

And then you just put the double sided tape on your paper, where you want the ribbon to go, and put your ribbon on. I put a little extra on the ends and I also folded down the top of my ribbon where it hangs loose so the end would stay neat.

And then as extra because I heard about this, you write down a good memory you have with your mom for every year she’s been your mom (a.k.a if your 20 your write 20 memories if your 30, your write 30, you get it). So I got to thinking and graped a bunch of colored pens and notebook paper, and I wrote them down. Then I cut them out and put them in a mason jar.

Then I added the bookmark in the mason jar so they were all neat and together, and here you have it: sweet, easy, cheap, cute mothers day gift!

I also took my mom out to lunch and we walked around downtown enjoying the sun with some family and friends :)

What’d you do for mother’s day? Comment! ;)

Spring Trends: Crop Top

Hey guys! Here’s another spring trend: crop tops! These have been super popular so I thought I’d share a few different looks, take a look.

This first look features a flowy crop tank in a cute girly pattern. Keeping the look matching grab a pair of light pink skinny jeans with a cute brown belt. Next grab some neutral sandals and a cute clutch. Finish off the look with a fun ring and rope studs. This look would be great for a day at the park or just hanging out. Outfit Information.

This outfit is completely different. It would be perfect to wear on a hike (you know if you replaced the heels with real hiking shoes). So grap a tangerine crop top and to keep a little more covered up throw a white button up over. Then grab these adorable green shorts that have a patterned belt (which matches the top ;) ). Top off the look with these adorable heels that resemble hiking boots, and a gold and tangerine cuff. Don’t forget to grab some sunglasses to protect your eyes on a sunny hike! Outfit Information.

This last look is the most girly. Go out on a sunny day in this cute breezy outfit ;) Start with a floral crop top with a cute button detail, and then grab a sun hat with flower on it in a coordinating color. Then pull on a high-waisted high-low skirt (double chic) and some cute sandal wedges (love the texture on these). Bring out more of the tops color with this tangerine clutch and these blue drop earrings, and bam your outfits complete! Outfit Information.

Oh and if anyone was wondering about the outfit information links, I use Polyvore so just scroll over any part of the outfit on the big picture you want, and everything’s listed in the right corner if you scroll down a tiny bit :)

Hope you enjoyed these outfits! Are you liking the spring trends? Are there any spring trends you’d like to see? Comment with your thoughts!

Want S’More?

There is nothing better than keeping warm by a fire on a cool night, and sombody pulls out the marshmellows. S’mores are my favorite part of camping. And my favorite part of fire (other than fireworks). But there are so many other things you can do with these wonderful ingrediants.

Last night I made a S’more smoothie, super easy to make and SO good. I got the recipe here.

All you need is marshmallow fluff, ice, milk, chocolate syrup, a graham cracker, and a blender.

Just blend:

1 whole graham cracker

1 cup of milk

1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup

1 heaping tablespoon of marshmallow fluff

1 cup of ice

I found this only made about 2 servings so you may want to double the ingredients (or triple them) depending on how many people your serving.

Other cool plays on s’mores I found:

S’mores Pizza

S’more Cupcakes

S’more Brownies

Today I…

Happy Saturday! Hope everyone had a lovely Friday :) I was so glad it was Friday last night I really need a weekend. In other news here’s some highlights of what made me smile this week, enjoy.

Love this picture I was trying to set up my camera for Mondays photo shoot in the kitchen, and I had my camera facing the other way and I just thought this picture was lovely. I love the colors. Oh and the blurry thing in front of the dish soap is a glass cup.

Also from Monday fresh chocolate cookies (while the full plate didn’t last very long). Here’s a recipe for perfect chocolate chip cookies here.

Nearing the end of the week grabbing a magazine and forgetting about your phone is the perfect way to relax. Also a love letter cant hurt either (even if it is from your mom ;) , I’ll be returning the favor next week). Oh and the jingle bell fell off one of my bags from Christmas so I just threw it into the shot.

And nothings better than I warm puppy sitting on your legs. And he hurt his leg so he’s using mine to prop it up, I just thought that was the cutest thing.

How are you spending your weekend? Anyone going to see The Avengers? I’m a superhero movie dork so I will :)

With Love,

Spring Trends: Pastel + Graphic Tees

Hey! Pastel is well, always in for spring so I decided to do three outfit with pastel colored denim and graphic tees (and one graphic sweatshirt). Since colored jeans, pastel, and graphic tees are in this is kind of like a three for one deal for all of you! (Or just me being lazy….) Anyway hope you guys enjoy these looks!

So like the shirt tells, this outfit is for having a nice day at the beach. Pair a cute sleeveless tee with orange pastel denim shorts and cute orange sandals. Then throw on an adorable lace trimmed hat and some retro sunglasses. To top your outfit off put on some cute humming bird earrings and a peach cross-body bag. Outfit Information.

Okay this outfit is different from the others, but I thought a little change up in the middle would be good. ;) So I paired a pull-over sweatshirt with mint blue pastel jeans, and pastel yellow tennis shoes. Accessorize with a sparkly head band, coral ring, and a coral polka-dot scarf. Then grab a cute lace trimmed tote (I’m feeling the lace today), and your good to go. I love pops of color, so I gave this outfit a few. Outfit Information.

This look is just about completely pastel. Pair a pastel blue striped tee with pastel yellow shorts and throw a pink button up over. Then grab a cute pink pastel anchor necklace, and blue-green sandals to add some more color to this look. Then grab your last pastel item which is pastel purple nail polish. To finish the look grap a bike bag and adorable mustache earrings. Outfit Information.

Hope you like this post!

With Love,
